Pixi toner

I have recently bought 3 Pixi products, after trying their toner which I absolutely adored and can honestly say that this cult favorite stands up to all the rave. I will absolutely be keeping this toner in my routine from now on.

I bought the 100ml bottle of toner which I have been using for about a month or so and it has barely made a dent in the amount of product. This little bottle of toner can safely last you 3 – 6 months.

The bottle states that the toner has 5% glycolic acid which exfoliates the skin. The low percentage of glycolic acid allows for the daily use of the product without causing irritation. Also when used in low levels glycolic acid can act to help moisturizes the skin by attracting and trapping water molecules. So not only does this toner exfoliate it moisturizes the skin.

Ingredients

The toner boasts 3 key ingredients not counting the glycolic acid; aloe vera, ginseng, and botanical extracts (witch hazel and horse chestnut). The toner is alcohol-free which means it does not dry out the skin and which also makes this toner perfect for sensitive skin.

Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice

Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice can soothe the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties. Aloe vera, which is considered to a be a super-food superstar has 75 known different nutrients which help bring out the best in your skin by protecting it from environmental toxins. Aloe vera moisturizes the skin, while also clearing the pores, and has antimicrobial properties.

Ginseng

Ginseng is an anti-aging ingredient because it contains a large number of phytonutrients which gets rid of free radicals from everyday pollutants. Ginseng  also increases the production of collagen which makes your skin more elastic and decreases wrinkles and fine lines. Ginseng can reduce the puffiness of under-eye circles and lightens up the appearance of your under-eye circles.

Witch Hazel and Horse Chestnut

Witch Hazel and Horse Chestnut. I love witch hazel, witch hazel is a king among skincare ingredients which is why you can find it on the list of many products. It fights acne, reduces the appearance of pores, reduces excess oil production, and helps stop the development of whiteheads and blackheads. Witch hazel can also treat eczema. Horse Chestnut is another anti-aging ingredient in this toner because it promotes circulation and has great anti-oxidant properties all the while helping your body fight inflammation.

Review

For a month I applied this toner in the morning and in the evening. In the first two weeks, I noticed my skin clear up and it was amazing. The tiny bumps on my forehead had faded and almost disappeared, these always bother me the only other thing that has helped was applying tea tree oil to them. I thought that I had finally found my holy-grail toner but at around week 3 the bumps were back and the toner stopped clearing out my pores like it did before. I was heartbroken, my heart-shaped glasses had been shattered.

Would I recommend this toner to other people?

Of course! What my skin needs is different compared to what other people need so this toner might work a lot better for someone else. I love the ingredient list and for the price I don’t think you will find anything better.  I can absolutely see why people rave about Pixi’s toner but it sadly did not work for me.

I would give this product a 4 out of 5.
